Another Status Report

I'm playing around with Ubuntu 8.10 in case someone is wondering.

In fact the open-source beast is behaving pretty well as far as hardware support is concerned; now I'm exploring its potential as an advanced tool for hard disk checks.

And these things take time, lots of it.
